We didn’t build a hotel.
We created silence.
The story of how a dream turned into a portal between man and pristine nature.
The Call of Machakhela
Woodhide was never intended as a mere business plan. It was born from the moment we first fell silent, standing on the edge of this gorge. We felt that this land is not just a backdrop, but a living being with a memory spanning ten million years.
In a world that constantly demands speed and noise from us, we found a place that asks for only one thing – to simply be here and now.
Architecture as a Translator
Our cabins do not have a curved shape for the sake of fashion. In nature, there are no straight lines. We wanted the walls not to separate you from the forest, but to gently embrace you, becoming a natural extension of the landscape.
We created this space for those seeking meaning, not just a location for a photo. Here, man is not a guest, but an inseparable part of the forest.
The Ethics of Mindful Creation
Foundation
We believe that architecture should be quiet. Our cabins stand on stilts: we did not pour concrete into the earth, so the roots of ancient trees could continue to breathe, and the soil remains alive.
Breath of the Earth
Woodhide was built from wood grown in this very gorge. We used local chestnut and oak, handcrafted by masters from Machakhela. This allowed us to preserve the energy of the place and minimize our environmental footprint.
Local Craftsmanship
Every detail of the interior – from the shelves to the terraces – was created right here. This is our way of saying “thank you” to this land and supporting the traditions of local artisans.
The Heart of Woodhide: Our Family
Here you will meet Jamal, who knows every tree in this forest, and Narjes, whose care transforms breakfast on the terrace into a true ritual of hospitality.
We built this place for our guests, dreaming that they would spend these days in harmony with the world. When you come to us, you become guests in our world, where honesty and home comfort are deeply valued.
“We believe that a guest in the house is a gift from God, and this ancient tradition of Adjara comes to life in every gesture of ours.”
Our True Goal
To give you the opportunity to slow down. To watch the fog rise along the mountain slopes. To greet the morning without notifications on your phone, but with a sense of complete unity with the world.
We share with you more than just comfort – we share our love for this land and the silence that heals.
